If You Want to be a Recording Artist You Need the Right Development
So, you want to be a recording artist. That’s great, and I totally support it. It’s a long arduous process, and to be ready when you get that big chance, you need to be totally prepared. You need development. Luck is opportunity plus preparation. I will prepare you.
Not only a famous voice teacher (having taught a Grammy Award winner, three Tony Award winners, Dove Award winners, American Idol finalists, and artists on every major label), I am also the head of a&r and development for a new, exciting record label. We just completed our first artist, and are looking to develop others to consider. But, you need development before that is considered.
Why? Our first artist went through two years of development before we cut her record. Once again; why?
You need to be totally prepared for the moment. No chances taken.
Development is everything at our label for the following reasons:
- You need to be your best when that time arrives. My partners at the label are very critical, as all labels. They have worked with Beyonce, Destiny’s Child, TLC, Mary Mary and Vanessa Williams.
- We need to see you are dedicated and have skin in the game. Many people want to do this, but at the end of the day are not serious enough. It is a fantasy. We want to see if you are serious.
- We want to see if you can take direction. No drama at our label. We are a team dedicated to everyone’s success. We need to know you are a team player.
So, if you are think you have what it takes, we will do everything via training and consultation to get you to that point.
